Wolf

Of all the animals Wolves had the strongest supernatural powers. They were the most proficient hunters of the land animals and were highly respected for this ability. Since this ability could be conferred on people they were often sought after as spirit aids by hunters.

The Kwakiutl thought of wolves as ancestors and often impersonated them is ceremonial dances.
