Gordon Dick's Selection:

First Nations Artist

Gordon Dick

The Native word "Ahtsik" symbolizes Gordon Dick's creativity and love for art.

He is Nuu-chah-nulth from the Tseshaht tribe on the West Coast of Vancouver Island where he grew up and still resides.

Since he was a young boy, he was taught the traditional teachings and values by his grandparents, Alan and Agnes Dick.

It was from their stories, teachings and his imagination and vision that his artistic vision was born.

For nearly twenty years Gordon has been developing his carving skills. He uses a variety of mediums, such as painting, drawing, ceramics, and wood carving. He engraves West Coast Native Art in gold, sterling silver, and copper.

His original designs are both contemporary and traditional. Gordon's attention to detail and his natural ability make each piece unique.

As well, Gordon has developed a line of original silk screen designs with a bold First Nation statement.

Gordon also does original silkscreen designs for clothing creating bold, and unique fashion statements.
