Michel de Bellefeuille

Michel was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec and in 1990 started his High School Teaching Career in one of Montreal's Secondary Schools.

One day while shopping for a gift for his girlfriend, Michel realized his desire to design jewellery.

Largely self taught, he also took artisan courses at L'Ecole de Joaillertie de Montreal. He believes that his jewellery is his poetic expression.

Michel works in Sterling Silver and Gold and uses an oxidization process to give a unique texture and tone to his jewellery.

He has been honored with several awards for his jewellery. Prix Ville de Quebec in 1999 and Prix Excellence in 2002 and the prestigious Jean-Marie Gauvreau prix d'Excellence Metiers d'Art in Montreal in 2003.

He lives in St. Jean-sur-Richelieu about 20km outside of Montreal.

Michel's work is sold in fine boutiques and galleries in Quebec, Ontario, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Victoria, British Columbia at Artina's Jewellery.
