Joanna Baxter's Selection:

Canadian Artist

Joanna Baxter

After four years at British Columbia's University of Victoria, CANADA, Joanna packed her bags and completed her degree in Grenoble, France. In 1999, she was selected to participate in the pilot project 'Youth International Self-Employent Business Program' and there her entrepreneurial spirit came alive.

She soon embarked on design and architecture courses at Vancouver's 'Emily Carr Institute of Art and Graphic Design'. A self-taught jeweller, Joanna works from her studio in West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Using both natural and synthetic materials in her work, she focuses on designing jewellery as architectural pieces. Inspired by natural colour families and a mix of graphic design savvy, her 'Box Mosaic' line attempts elements of surprise and modern simplicity in its use of colour and shape.

Her jewellery pieces created using Sterling Silver with Fiberoptic Glass (or with Fresh Water Pearls) are delightful and elegant.
